Geolocation Errors on TV Streaming Devices

Geolocation Errors on TV Streaming Devices

Geolocation can be tricky with ROKU, APPLE TV, ANDROID TV, and FIRE TV devices as they do not have built in GPS/location services like other devices do. If you are receiving a location error on one of these devices, please logout of Locast.org and the app and then log back in and re-activate the Locast app. Activating Locast is just another way of logging in.

If you are still seeing a location error or the incorrect local channels after re-activation of the Locast app, please submit a ticket to support with the IP address that appears at the bottom of this error message. If you are seeing the wrong local channels, please visit www.iplocation.net via a separate device that is connected to the same internet network as your TV streaming device to obtain your current Public IPv4 address.

With this information we can reset your location and restore your local programming.

If you are receiving a location error and are unsure if you are eligible to stream local channels with Locast, please visit www.locast.org/dma and allow access to your to your location. If you qualify for local channels your DMA will be displayed in the green box above the left side of the map.
