How to Allow Access to your Geolocation on Computers and Mobile Devices

Most computers and mobile devices have GPS/location services built in. When you allow Locast.org to access this information, it allows us to determine which Designated Market Area(DMA) you are eligible to stream with Locast. Allowing the Locast app access to this information follows a similar process.

MacOS Computers: Please ensure that location services are enabled at the computer level and that your browser, as well as www.locast.org have permission to access this information. When you first access Locast.org you should be prompted to allow access to this information. As long as Locast always has access to this information while using the website you should not receive any location errors. Supported browsers: Safari, Chrome, Firefox

Windows PCs: Please ensure that location services are enabled at the computer level and that www.locast.org has permission to access this information. When you first access Locast.org you should be prompted to allow access to this information. As long as Locast always has access to this information while using the website you should not receive any location errors. Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Edge

Android Mobile Devices: Location services must be enabled at the device level and the Locast app or www.locast.org website require access to your geolocation while using the service. When first accessing the website or app you should be prompted to allow access to this information. The Locast app does not support Android devices running anything less than Android OS 4.3, however, if your mobile Chrome browser is supported on a device with an earlier version of Android, you may be able to view your local channels here. Locast App Supported Devices: Android Tablets and Smart Phones Android OS 4.3 + Locast.org Supported Mobile Browsers: Chrome, Firefox

Apple Mobile Devices(iOS): Location services must be enabled at the device level and the Locast app or www.locast.org website require access to your geolocation while using the service. When first accessing the website or app you should be prompted to allow access to this information. The Locast app does not support iOS devices running anything less than iOS 9.0, however, you may still be able to stream your local channels via a supported mobile browser on older devices. Locast iOS Supported Devices: iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch iOS 9.0 + Locast.org Supported Mobile Browsers: Safari, Chrome, Firefox

If all of your location settings are set up correctly but you are still having trouble, please make sure that your browser is supported, and that the browser is up to date, that nothing on your network is blocking us from receiving your geolocation and try logging out and back in. If you continue to receive a location error, please clear your browser's cache and cookies and try again. If you are using the mobile app, please make sure that your device and Locast app are up to date, then logout and back in.
